Susie Cooke (She/Her) - Business Manager

What excites you most about working at Throsby school?

I am so excited to be a part of the founding staff of Throsby School! I love helping building a community to support students, and feel so lucky to work alongside families and other school staff to help support children to be the best they can be. We have a wonderful community already, and I can’t wait to watch the school grow even more! I love that the leadership team is always open to learning new skills and finding different ways to achieve goals.

What inspired you to work in education?

I was originally planning on being a teacher myself! After getting halfway through my degree, and working as both an administration assistant and an LSA, I found that being in the office and communicating with families is my superpower. I love being organised and supporting children behind the scenes. Being able to help provide students and staff with the tools they need to be successful is what fills my bucket.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learnt in your career?

Always being open to feedback provides you with opportunity for growth.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

‘People will never forget how you make them feel’. If children, families and Staff can walk away from the office feeling welcomed, understood and cared for, then I’ve done the most important part of my job.
